Graduated in 1992, in Modern Literature with a focus on history and art, at the University of Pisa. He is professor of Theory of Perception and Psychology of Form, Theory and Analysis of Cinema and Audiovisuals and Psychology of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara. He is member of different Committees. He has curated numerous contemporary art exhibitions in Italy and abroad, film and audiovisual festivals and video art and technological arts. He has written numerous essays, articles and catalogues on the above-mentioned topics. He regularly collaborates with the art and culture magazine AW Magazine and other industry magazines. Among the various initiatives curated, the National Pavilion of the Ivory Coast at the 59th Venice Biennale, 2022. He has dealt with cross-overs between art, cinema, video art and photography, curating exhibitions and catalogues of artists such as David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Federico Fellini, Marco Bellocchio, Luchino Visconti, Taviani brothers.
